Cevaer leads China Open after first round

BEIJING -- Christian Cevaer of France shot a 6-under-par 66
Thursday for a one-stroke lead over six players after the first
round of the China Open.

Englishmen Simon Wakefield, Simon Dyson and Ross Fisher were at
67, as were Jose Filipe Lima of Portugal, Peter Hanson of Sweden
and Gonzalo Fernandz-Castano of Spain.

Cevaer enjoyed a bogey-free round at Beijing Honghua
International Golf Club in a tournament sanctioned by the European
and Asian tours .

"I just swung it beautifully and felt great," he said.

India's Rahil Gangjee, Australia's Jarrod Lyle and England's
Miles Tunnicliff and David Lynn were at 68.

Paul Casey of England, who won the tournament last year in a
playoff, shot 71. Henrik Stenson of Sweden, who at No. 13 is the
highest-ranked player in the field, was at 73.
