SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Chris Young and Josh Fogg get their
first chances to impress their new teams as the San Diego
Padres host the Colorado Rockies in the opener of a
three-game series on Friday.
Young makes his debut for the Padres and should find the
spaciousness of Petco Park much more accommodating than the
hitter's paradise of Ameriquest Field. The 6-10 righthander
was 12-7 with a 4.26 ERA with Texas last season.
The Rockies will counter with Fogg, who struggled with
Pittsburgh last season by going 6-11 with a 5.05 ERA. He did
win his only start here last season by allowing just two runs -
one earned - in 6 1/3 innings.
San Diego opened its season by splitting two games against NL
West Division rival San Francisco with a rainout in between.
Colorado posted a season-opening triumph over Arizona before
dropping the next two contests.
