Braves LHP Ramirez placed on DL with hamstring strain

SAN FRANCISCO - The Atlanta Braves on Thursday placed
lefthander Horacio Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list with a
strained left hamstring.

Ramirez suffered the injury while running to first base in the
third inning of Atlanta's 9-8 victory over the Los Angeles
Dodgers on Wednesday.

A four-year veteran, Ramirez is 25-17 with a 4.14 ERA in 73
career appearances - 71 starts. He went 11-9 last season with a
4.63 ERA.

In corresponding moves, the Braves optioned righthander Blaine
Boyer to Class AAA Richmond, recalled righthander Joey Devine
and purchased the contract of righthander Kenny Ray from
Richmond.
