DUESSELDORF, Germany -- Many World Cup coaches want FIFA to
extend the May 15 deadline for submitting their final 23-man
rosters.
"I think the extension of the deadline would make sense,"
Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said Tuesday at a two-day
World Cup workshop.
Other coaches supporting the move include England's Sven-Goran
Eriksson and Germany's Juergen Klinsmann, who did not attend the
workshop.
FIFA, soccer's governing body, is expected to discuss the
proposal at a meeting in Zurich, Switzerland, on March 16.
The 32-nation tournament in Germany will begin June 9 and end
July 9.
