LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Gonzaga can make the inevitable a
reality Saturday when it faces West Coast Conference rival
Loyola Marymount.

The fifth-ranked Bulldogs (21-3, 10-0 WCC) have been the
clear-cut favorites to win the WCC regular season title for the
better part of the last decade. They can officially wrap up
their sixth straight crown with a victory over the Lions, who
are the only team that mathematically can catch them.

Gonzaga is coming off its 12th straight victory Tuesday - a
97-83 win over Portland behind another incredible performance by
Adam Morrison. The 6-8 junior scored 13 of his 33 points in
the final 3:41, including all but one of the Bulldogs' final 14
points.

J.P. Batista contributed a career high-tying 32 points and 10
rebounds and Sean Mallon added 12 and 10 for Gonzaga, which
trails only George Washington (13) for the longest winning
streak in the nation.

Loyola Marymount (11-13, 8-2) is coming off one of its biggest
wins of the season, an 89-78 overtime triumph over Pepperdine on
Tuesday. Brandon Worthy scored 23 points and Matthew Knight
added 19 and 13 rebounds for the Lions, who have won eight of
their last 10 games and six straight at home.

Gonzaga has won five straight vs. Loyola Marymount and 21 of the
last 22 meetings, including a 92-80 victory on January 16.
Morrison scored 30 points, Batista 25 and Derek Ravio 24 for the
Bulldogs, who shot a blistering 53 percent from the floor.
