Titans' McNair added to Pro Bowl as replacement for Plummer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee quarterback Steve McNair was
added to the AFC's Pro Bowl roster Tuesday as a replacement for
Denver's Jake Plummer, who won't play due to an injury.

This will be McNair's third Pro Bowl but first in relatively
good health. He was chosen as an injury replacement for Brian
Griese after the 2000 season, but couldn't play because of a
shoulder injury. He lasted four plays with a cracked bone spur in
his left ankle as the AFC starter after the 2003 season, which
included a 90-yard touchdown pass.

McNair is scheduled to be in Honolulu by Wednesday.

"It's a great opportunity to be part of the Pro Bowl," McNair
said in a statement. "Anytime you get a chance to compete against
the best in the NFL, it is certainly something you look forward
to."

McNair couldn't start the season finale against Jacksonville
because of a strained pectoral muscle. But he started 14 games in
his 11th NFL season, throwing for 3,161 yards in the fifth-highest
total of his career. He was 292-of-476 with 16 touchdowns and 11
interceptions.

McNair is the second Tennessee player to be added to the Pro
Bowl roster since the season ended. Defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch
was an injury replacement for Miami end Jason Taylor.
