Canucks continue road trip in Denver

DENVER -- The Vancouver Canucks' road trip has not
gone as planned. In fact, it's starting to border on a total
disaster.

The Canucks try to avoid dropping a fourth straight game to
open their season-long, seven-game trip Saturday when they
visit the Colorado Avalanche in a Northwest Division matchup.

Vancouver kicked off its trek with losses against St. Louis
and Columbus before falling, 2-1, against Detroit on Thursday.

Alex Auld made 35 saves and Anson Carter scored the lone goal
for the Canucks, who have dropped seven of their last 10 road
contests.

Vancouver tries to get back on track in a building in which it
already has lost three times this season, getting outscored by
a 16-7 margin in those games.

Colorado lost a 3-2 shootout to Dallas on Thursday despite
goals from defenseman Rob Blake and Alex Tanguay.

The Avalanche may welcome back former Canuck Brad May, who has
missed 11 straight games with a sprained knee.
