Montana 98, Portland State 77

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Kevin Criswell scored 22 points in just
21 minutes Thursday and Montana held Portland State without a
3-point basket in the second half in posting a 98-77 win.

The Grizzlies (15-3, 5-1 Big Sky) got points from all 12 of
their players, including 15 from Andrew Strait and 10 from Stuart
Mayes.

Portland State (8-11, 1-5), which made 7-of-12 3-pointers in the
first half, was 0-7 in the second as the Grizzlies used fresh
defenders to cool Portland State from 60 percent shooting in the
first half to 35 percent in the second.

Mayes was one of five reserves on the floor when Montana pulled
away from a 57-51 lead in the second half. He followed a 3-pointer
with 7:43 to go with a three-point play at the 7:10 mark that put
the Grizzlies up 81-63.

Montana shot 63 percent from the field, making 36-of-57
attempts.

Virgil Matthews and Matt Martin both dished out seven assists
for the Grizzlies, who had 24 for the game.

Anthony Washington had 15 points for the Vikings, who trailed
51-45 at halftime. Jake Schroeder added 14 points and Juma Kamara,
Tyler Hollist and Scott Morrison finished with 10 each.

Montana has won five of its last six games, while Portland State
has lost five of its last six.
