TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Toledo's Florentino Valencia scored 23
points despite playing just 16 minutes of the Rockets' 88-58 win
over Eastern Michigan on Thursday night.
Valencia was 9-for-9 from the floor and sank five of eight free
throws. Keonta Howell added 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting and Anton
Currie had 11 points and nine rebounds for Toledo (10-7, 3-6
Mid-American).
Eastern Michigan (3-13, 0-8) committed 25 turnovers to Toledo's
16, leading to a 33-14 deficit in points off turnovers. The Eagles
also were outscored 50-14 in the paint.
Carlos Medlock scored 14 points to lead Eastern Michigan, which
also got 13 points and 11 rebounds from John Bowler and 11 points
off the bench from Danny McElhinny.
The Rockets led 41-10 with 3 minutes left in the first half and
shot 68 percent in the second half.
