Shoulder sprain sidelines Marbury

CHICAGO -- New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury missed
Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls with a sprained left
shoulder, ending a streak of 280 consecutive games played.

Marbury, who injured the shoulder during the fourth quarter of
Monday's loss to Minnesota, was not sure when he'll return.

"Whenever I feel like I can take a hit, that's when I'll come
back," said Marbury, who leads the Knicks with 18.9 points and 7.0
assists per game. "I just want to get to the point where I can
play."

Marbury had not missed a game since Oct. 30, 2002, when he was
suspended by the NBA for the Phoenix Suns' season opener. He had
not been sidelined by an injury since the 2000-01 season, when he
missed 15 games because of ankle, hip and finger injuries while
with the New Jersey Nets.
