Boston College returns to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne

PITTSBURGH -- Although Boston College is no longer a
member of the Big East, it still makes a stop in the Steel City
this season.

Jared Dudley and the 14th-ranked Eagles seek their third
straight win when they play Duquesne on Tuesday.

Now a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, Boston College
used to be a regular visitor to the area to face fellow Big East
club Pittsburgh. Despite those frequent trips, this is the
Eagles' first visit to the Dukes in nearly 34 years. Duquesne
won that meeting, a 93-79 win on January 27, 1972.

In its first season in the ACC, Boston College did not quite
have the opener it would have liked, falling 73-71 to Maryland
on December 11. To add salt to the wound, Wooden candidate
Craig Smith was whistled for five fouls in the second half,
fouling out with 54 seconds remaining on a charge.

The Eagles have rebounded with two straight wins, including an
impressive 89-55 victory over local foe Harvard on Thursday.
Dudley led a balanced scoring effort with 16 points on 7-of-9
shooting.

The 6-7 junior forward has averaged 19.0 points on 58 percent
(30-of-52) shooting with 7.8 rebounds in the past four games.

The Dukes ended a three-game losing streak with a 90-61 victory
over The Citadel on Tuesday.

Leading scorer and senior guard Bryant McAllister scored 22
points and DeVario Hudson added 20 as Duquesne scored more than
73 points for the first time this season.

Boston College holds a 5-4 edge all-time between the schools.
