WASHINGTON (AP) -- Roy Hibbert had 17 points and 10 rebounds and
Georgetown scored the first 15 points of a 70-50 victory over
winless Stetson on Saturday night.
The Hoyas (5-2) took the game over in the opening minutes, going
inside to the 7-foot-2 Hibbert early and often against the
overmatched Hatters.
Hibbert and guard Jonathan Wallace, who hit two 3-pointers,
combined for all the points in the Hoyas' opening run that ended
when Will Holloman scored on a three-point play 5 minutes into the
game.
The Hoyas led by as many as 27 points in the first half and were
up 45-20 at halftime. Hibbert finished the opening half with 13
points and nine rebounds.
Brandon Bowman and Marc Eggerson each added 12 points for the
Hoyas.
Anthony Register led the Hatters (0-8) with 17 points.
The Hispanic College Fund Basketball Classic was played in
McDonough Arena, Georgetown's on-campus facility, and drew a crowd
of 2,146.
