MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) -- A.J. Graves scored 21 points and had three
assists to lead Butler to a 64-53 win over Ball State Saturday
night. Brandon Crone added 16 points and Avery Sheets scored 13 points
for the Bulldogs (4-3). Ball State matched Butler for the first few minutes of the game.
But with 11:02 left in the first half, Butler took the lead for
good when a layup by Sheets brought the score to 11-10. By
halftime, the Bulldogs led 33-14. Ball State pulled to within 10 with 8:42 left in the game with a
Charles Bass layup, but the Cardinals could not get any closer. Julien "Skip" Mills led Ball State (2-1) with 17 points, and
Bass scored 12. The game was the 97th meeting between the two teams.
