Kings place RW Parros on injured reserve

CHICAGO - The Los Angeles Kings will have to make due
without their rookie enforcer for a little while longer.

The Kings on Wednesday placed George Parros on injured reserve
with a sprained right ankle, an injury that has sidelined the
rugged right wing since November 17.

An eighth-round pick in 1999, Parros was hurt in Los Angeles'
5-4 victory over Vancouver. The 6-5, 232-pound tough guy, who
has one goal, three assists and 47 penalty minutes in 20 games,
already has missed five contests with the injury.

To replace Parros on the roster, the Kings recalled left wing
Jeff Tambellini from Manchester of the American Hockey League.

Selected 27th overall in the 2003 draft, the 21-year-old
Tambellini has 14 goals and 11 assists in 18 games with the
Monarchs this season. The son of former NHL forward and current
Vancouver assistant general manager Steve Tambellini, the 5-11,
186-pounder has yet to make his NHL debut.
