Freshman phenoms

I think enough time has gone by to start gauging who some of the top freshmen are. Today's list, though, will cover both freshmen and redshirt freshmen. (Penn State's Derrick Williams was near the top of the list, but due to his injury I am not including him here. West Virginia's Steve Slaton also isn't on here because of injury.)

1. Tyrell Sutton, RB, Northwestern: Did have a costly fumble last week against Michigan, but that was one of the rare moments where the guy hasn't been brilliant this season. Ranks sixth in the nation with 1,020 rushing yards and also has run for 14 TDs.

2. James Hardy, WR, Indiana: At 6-7, Hardy is a great weapon for Terry Hoeppner to build around. Ranks eighth in the country with 848 receiving yards. Also has caught 10 TDs. Looks like a taller Mike Williams.
