Cavs waive three; Hamilton, Wilks make cut

CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers first-year coach Mike Brown finalized
his 15-man roster on Thursday by waiving guard Kelenna Azubuike and
centers Obinna Ekezie and Jahidi White.

The cuts mean that center Zendon Hamilton and guard Mike Wilks,
a pair of unsigned free agents, made the squad.

Hamilton's hustle helped earn him a spot. The 6-foot-11 veteran
played in 16 games for Milwaukee last season. The former St. John's
star has also played for Philadelphia, Toronto, Denver and Seattle.

Wilks will back up at point guard for Eric Snow and Damon Jones.
He played in 48 games for San Antonio last season.

Azubuike, a 6-foot-5 rookie from Kentucky, averaged 7.0 points
and 3.0 rebounds in five preseason games.

Ekezie, who played in a career-high 42 games for Atlanta last
season, averaged 3.8 points and 2.2 rebounds. White, who spent last
season with Charlotte, averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in
three games but was slowed by injuries.

The Cavaliers open the 2005-06 at home season on Wednesday
against New Orleans.
