Boston (4-5-1) at Carolina (5-2-1), 7:00 pm EDT

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Carolina Hurricanes
will attempt to remain one of three unbeaten teams at home in
the Eastern Conference and keep alive an impressive point streak
when they host the Boston Bruins on Wednesday.

Since a road loss to the New York Islanders on October 8, the
Hurricanes have outscored opponents, 24-10, in a 4-0-1 streak.

Carolina rallied from a two-goal deficit to steal a 3-2 win
against Ottawa here Monday despite being outshot, 47-27.

Eric Staal and Matt Cullen both scored in the second period to
tie it and defenseman Frantisek Kaberle notched his first goal
of the season early in the third to give the Hurricanes the win.

Martin Gerber, who gave up his first goal just 14 seconds after
the opening faceoff and another less than three minutes later,
closed the door and finished with 45 saves, helping Carolina
offset a 24-9 shot disadvantage in the third. It was Gerber's
first start since Opening Night due to a hip injury.

The Hurricanes' home dominance will be tested by the Bruins, who
have posted three of their four wins this season on the road
and were the best road team in the conference in 2003-04.

Like Carolina, Boston stormed back from a two-goal deficit
Monday to take a 3-2 lead on Toronto. However, a late tally for
the Maple Leafs forced overtime and the Bruins eventually
dropped a 5-4 shootout loss.
