GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Wayne Gretzky only played 18
games of his Hall of Fame career with the St. Louis Blues.
On Tuesday, Gretzky will attempt to snap a two-game losing
streak when his Phoenix Coyotes kick off a three-game
homestand against one the St. Louis Blues.

The Coyotes won the first two games of their four-game road trip
before dropping the final two.

In Sunday's 5-3 loss to Anaheim, Phoenix wasted a pair of goals
from Mike Leclerc as Curtis Joseph, who needs one win for 400
career victories, allowed three goals in the first period and
backup David Leneveu surrendered two in the final session.

Meanwhile, St. Louis has won just once in its last four games
and is coming off a 3-2 setback to Minnesota on Saturday. The
Blues peppered Manny Fernandez with 40 shots but only got two
past the Wild netminder. Mike Sillinger and Mark Rycroft scored
for the Blues, who squandered a 2-0 lead.

St. Louis, which is opening a three-game road trip, will need to
continue its strong special teams play. The Blues have
successfully killed off 20 of their last 23 penalties.

Phoenix is converting at 19.4 percent (12-of-62) with the man
advantage this season.

The Coyotes held a 2-1-1 edge in the 2003-04 season series.
