Charlotte 82, Miami 72

MIAMI (AP) -- Emeka Okafor and Jake Voskuhl each scored 16 points
to lead the Charlotte Bobcats to an 82-72 victory against the Miami
Heat on Saturday.

Okafor and Voskuhl were two of five Bobcats to score in double
figures, as Charlotte (1-2) won its first preseason game.

Dwayne Wade led the Heat (1-2) with 18 points, but Miami had 25
turnovers and shot 37.5 percent from the field.

The Heat, who were without reserves Gary Payton (stomach virus)
and Michael Doleac (calf strain), looked sluggish after losing
Friday night to the Memphis Grizzlies 101-91 in San Juan, Puerto
Rico.

Antoine Walker had 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench,
and Shaquille O'Neal had nine points and 11 rebounds.

The Bobcats, who were without Primoz Brezec (shin) and Sean May
(knee), got 10 points each from Melvin Ely, Brevin Knight and Keith
Bogans.

Charlotte turned a 45-39 halftime lead into a 73-53 advantage
after the third quarter and coasted to the victory.
