Cavaliers G-F James hospitalized with pectoral strain

CLEVELAND - LeBron James was experiencing such
discomfort in his chest that he was hospitalized Wednesday
night, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced Thursday afternoon.

The 20-year-old superstar swingman was admitted to the Cleveland
Clinic for further testing by team physicians on his strained
left pectoral muscle. Preliminary testing had been normal.

James, who is doubtful for the Cavaliers' preseason game against
the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, sat out their contest against
the Boston Celtics in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. He did play in
their preseason opener at Washington on Monday.

The Cavaliers may be without several other players for Friday's
game, including forward Ira Newble (right foot strain), swingman
Sasha Pavlovic (left hip pointer) and rookie center Martynas
Andriuskevicius (flu).
