Colorado (66-92) at NY Mets (80-78), 7:10 pm EDT

FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Mets and Colorado
Rockies may already be eliminated from playoff contention, but
both teams are still playing hard.

The Mets go for their sixth win in seven games, while the
Rockies seek their 10th victory in 15 contests Thursday when the
teams open a season-ending four-game series at Shea Stadium.

New York was eliminated from playoff contention Tuesday when
Houston defeated St. Louis. The Mets played spoiler earlier
this week, taking two of three from Philadelphia to all but end
the Phillies' postseason hopes.

Colorado also is coming off an impressive series in which it
took two of three in Atlanta, capped by Wednesday's 10-5
victory. The Rockies have won six of their last eight road
games and are 16-11 on the road since opening the year 10-40
away from Coors Field.

New York gives the nod to Tom Glavine (12-13, 3.69 ERA) as the
veteran lefthander looks to get back to the .500 mark. The
two-time Cy Young Award winner won his last start, allowing two
runs in eight innings of Saturday's 5-2 win over Washington.

Glavine is 10-5 with a 3.03 ERA in his career against the
Rockies, including a 5-3 loss July 25 in which he allowed five
runs in six innings.

Colorado counters with Sunny Kim (6-2, 4.40), who has pitched
very well over the last month, going 5-0 with a 3.32 ERA in his
last seven games. He is coming off one of the best starts of
his career Saturday when he allowed just three hits and a walk
in a 6-0 shutout vs. San Francisco.

The Rockies took two of three from the Mets at Coors Field from
July 25-27 in the only prior meeting this year.
