SAN DIEGO - Chargers left guard Toniu Fonoti had a plate surgically inserted in his broken right hand on Wednesday and it's doubtful he'll play in Sunday night's home game against the New York Giants.
Fonoti broke his hand during practice last week but played in Sunday's loss at Denver.
Kris Dielman will start in his place at left guard.
