LONDON, Ontario (AP) -- Simon Gagne scored three goals and Jon
Sim added two goals and an assist to help the Philadelphia Flyers
beat the Atlanta Thrashers 8-6 on Saturday night in the exhibition
opener for both teams.
Mike Knuble, Turner Stevenson and Kim Johnsson also scored for
the Flyers.
J.P. Vigier scored twice and Brad Larsen, Mark Popovic Jim
Slater and Brian Maloney also scored for the Thrashers.
The Flyers won the postgame shootout 1-0. Mike Richards scored
the lone goal and Antero Niittymaki stopped all four shots he
faced.
