JOLIET, Ill. -- Thiago Medeiros will join the Dreyer and
Reinbold team for the IndyCar Series season finale at
California Speedway. Medeiros, the 2004 Infiniti Pro Series champion
with six victories, will give the team a second driver, along with
Roger Yasukawa.
The hiring of Medeiros is a way of looking ahead for Dreyer and
Reinbold, not just to the Oct. 16 race at Fontana but to next year
as well.
"We see the advantage of being a two-car team and strive to be
one. We're not announcing we will definitely be a two-car team but
that's what our goal is, what we strive for," co-owner Dennis
Reinbold said Saturday. "We want to be a major player and a major
team for some time to come."
Yasukawa's best finish this season in 14 races is 11th, where
he's placed three different times.
