Indians and Tigers play makeup game on Thursday

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Indians return home to
face the Detroit Tigers on Thursday afternoon in a makeup game
that was rained out on August 30.

The Indians completed a three-game sweep of Detroit at Comerica
Park with a 4-1 victory on Wednesday. Cleveland outscored the
Tigers, 12-2 in the series to improve to 45-29 on the road this
season - the third-best mark in the major leagues.

However, the Indians are just 33-32 at Jacobs Field.

Cleveland is just one-half game behind the New York Yankees for
the American League wild card lead. The Yankees host Tampa Bay
on Thursday night.

Kevin Millwood (7-11, 3.15 ERA) will be on the mound for the
Indians on Thursday. The righthander has a losing record
despite having the fourth-best ERA in the AL. Millwood has
allowed just two runs in each of his last two starts, but did
not pick up a win.

The Tigers will counter with Nate Robertson (6-12, 4.33), who is
just 1-5 in his last eight starts. He has been hammered for 14
runs in his last two starts.
