Mariners get second crack at Millwood

SEATTLE -- Five days after baffling the Seattle
Mariners, Kevin Millwood seeks a repeat performance when the
Cleveland Indians play the second game of a four-game set at
Safeco Field on Friday.

In the Indians' 6-3 win over the Mariners last Sunday, Millwood
allowed one earned run and just three hits in 7 2/3 innings.
He struck out five and walked two in snapping a personal
four-game losing streak.

Despite owning the fifth-lowest ERA in the American League,
Millwood has the fewest wins on the Indians' starting staff. He
has a 2.98 mark in eight starts on the road.

Seattle gives the ball to veteran righthander Aaron Sele (6-11,
5.14), who was the losing pitcher opposite Millwood on Sunday
and has dropped six straight starts overall. Sele gave up three
runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings in falling to 5-10 with a
5.23 ERA lifetime against the Indians.

The Mariners got a game-tying three-run homer from Raul Ibanez
in the bottom of the seventh inning before suffering a 6-5 loss
to the Indians in the series opener on Thursday.

Pinch hitter Jose Hernandez provided the difference with an RBIs
single in the eighth, lifting Cleveland to its fourth win in six
games following a 3-12 stretch.
