LONDON, July 22 - Olympic champion Yelena
Isinbayeva of Russia broke the women's pole vault world record
at the London Grand Prix meeting on Friday, clearing 5.0 metres.
She had cleared 4.96 metres earlier in the evening to break
her previous record of 4.95 set in Madrid on July 16.
