FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) - Rookie Robinson Tejeda has
provided some unexpected stability in the Philadelphia Phillies'
struggling rotation.

Tejeda takes the mound for the Phillies on Monday in the opener
of a three-game set with the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.

Tejeda (1-0, 2.03 ERA) allowed one run in six innings Wednesday
in an 8-4 win over the Mets. He has yielded just one run in 16
2/3 innings as a starter after making eight relief appearances
for the Phillies.

The rookie righthander has allowed just 13 hits in 26 2/3
innings this season, and opponents are batting only .144 against
him.

Philadelphia is coming off a sweep at the hands of the Boston
Red Sox in which it was outscored, 27-9, in the three games.

In Sunday's 12-8 loss, Bobby Abreu collected three hits,
including a homer, three runs and four RBI for the Phillies, who
concluded their homestand at 1-5 after going 12-1 on the
previous one.

Mets starter Victor Zambrano (3-6, 3.97) yielded two runs in six
innings in Wednesday's contest. He has allowed 74 hits and 44
walks in 77 innings this season, and has won just once in his
last seven starts.

The 29-year-old righthander is just 1-3 with a 4.70 ERA at home
this year.

New York is coming off a tough loss to the New York Yankees.
The Mets took the first two games of the set and led, 4-3, in
the ninth inning Sunday before closer Braden Looper squandered
the lead in a 5-4 loss.
