Rangers aim for 10th straight win

Texas (30-20) at Detroit (23-26), 7:05 pm EDT

DETROIT -- The Texas Rangers look to extend their
winning streak to 10 consecutive games when they meet the
Detroit Tigers on Wednesday.

After tying a team record with 18 wins in May, Texas can set the
club's second-longest winning stretch. The Rangers won 14
straight from May 12-27, 1991.

Kenny Rogers won his seventh consecutive start in an 8-2 triumph
over the Tigers on Tuesday. He yielded one run and three hits
with a season-high six strikeouts in seven innings.

Texas' Ryan Drese (4-4, 5.93 ERA) got an extra day of rest
because of Saturday's rainout. He surrendered two runs and
eight hits in seven innings in a win over the Kansas City Royals
on May 24.

The Tigers counter with Jeremy Bonderman (5-3, 3.48 ERA), who
has worked at least six innings in all 10 starts this season.
He allowed four runs and nine hits in a loss to the New York
Yankees on Thursday.

Brandon Inge, who hit a leadoff homer against Rogers, is batting
.337 (29-for-86) in his last 21 games.
