Philadelphia Phillies Organization Report

Reliever Amaury Telemaco was recalled from Class AAA
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on May 24, when Philadelphia designated
reliever Terry Adams for assignment. It was an improbable call
up for Telemaco, who had briefly walked away from baseball after
not making the Phillies out of Spring Training. The righthander
was 0-1 with a 4.09 ERA in nine appearances for the Red Barons.
... The Philadelphia organization, which found not only its
parent club in last place in the National League East Division
on May 28, but also found all four of their active minor league
teams in last place as well. Class AAA Scranton/Wilkes Barre was
20-28, 10 games behind in the International League North
Division, Class AA Reading brought up the rear of the Eastern
League Southern Division with a 20-29 record, the advanced Class
A Clearwater Threshers were a Florida State League-worst 11-36,
and the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws were a South Atlantic
League-worst 16-34. ... One of the few bright spots is RF Jim
Rushford, who leads the International League with a .369 batting
average. ... Reading 1B Randy Ruiz leads the Eastern League
with a .361 batting average. The Bronx, New York native also has
12 homers for the Reading Phillies and sits atop the Eastern
League with 36 RBIs.
