Beltre leaves after five innings with tight hamstring

SEATTLE -- Seattle Mariners third baseman Adrian Beltre left
after five innings of Tuesday night's game against the New York
Yankees because of tightness in his left hamstring.

Dave Hansen took over in the field to start the sixth. Team
officials described the move as precautionary.

Beltre, who struck out and grounded out in two at-bats Tuesday,
signed a $64 million, five-year contract with Seattle last winter.
He was one of the top free agents after last season, when his 48
home runs for the Dodgers led the majors.
