Yanks go for eighth straight win and sweep of Athletics

NY Yankees (18-19) at Oakland (14-22), 4:05 pm EDT

OAKLAND, California -- The New York Yankeees are on
a roll.

After starting with a stunning 11-19 record, the Yankees have
won seven straight and seek to complete a three-game sweep of
the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.

Four of the seven wins in the streak have come against the
Athletics.

Tino Martinez and Derek Jeter each belted three-run homers in
New York's 15-6 rout of Oakland on Saturday. Alex Rodriguez and
Jorge Posada also homered for the Yankees.

Oakland's Joe Blanton was tagged for nine runs and seven hits in
2 2/3 innings. Tim Harikkala allowed the other six runs in 3
1/3 innings.

Randy Johnson (3-2, 3.68 ERA) looks for his third win in his
last four starts for New York. The 41-year-old lefthander
allowed three runs and struck out seven in eight innings in a
4-3 win over Seattle last Monday. Johnson is 11-7 with a 2.77
ERA in 22 career appearances against the Athletics.

Oakland hopes to snap a seven-game losing streak by sending Dan
Haren (1-5, 5.21 ERA) to the mound. Haren has lost four
consecutive starts after going 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA in his first
three starts.
