Keep an eye on Santos-Carpenter matchup

• 1:05 p.m. ET: The Red Sox get a good look at new and improved Orioles right-hander Daniel Cabrera, whose inconsistency can come into play from inning to inning; his pitch count will probably be an issue. Tim Wakefield works for Boston.

• 1:10 p.m. ET: The Reverse Lock of the Day will be in Shea, where Mike Hampton – 11-1 since last year's All-Star break – pitches against Tom Glavine, who is 1-6 with an 8.76 ERA against his former team. All logic says the Braves will win, so count on the Mets to pull it out.

• 1:10 p.m. ET: Milwaukee's underrated Victor Santos, who has allowed just 12 hits and five walks in 22 innings for a 1.64 ERA, dueling against the Cardinals' Chris Carpenter, whose stuff has been exceptional.

• 7:05 p.m. ET: Game 2 of the Yankees-Angels series. Mike Mussina throws against Jarrod Washburn.

• 7:07 p.m. ET: A couple pretty good young lefties throw in Toronto, with Scott Kazmir of the Devil Rays against Gustavo Chacin of the Blue Jays.

• 8:35 p.m. ET: The Most Likely To Hit a Homer will swing in Colorado – Miguel Cabrera of the Marlins, hitting against the Rockies' Joe Kennedy.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly from Tuesday
The Good: The Orioles piled up 20 hits, including four apiece from Melvin Mora and Miguel Tejada, in a come-from-behind 11-8 victory over the Red Sox.

The Bad: The Cubs scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take an 8-6 lead. But they gave the game away after that by allowing the Reds to score five runs over the final four innings in Cincinnati's 11-9 win.

The Ugly: Bartolo Colon had a nightmare outing, allowing 10 runs – five earned – in 3 2/3 innings as the Angels were pounded by the Yankees 12-4.
