ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- Two righthanders looking to improve
upon identical 6.39 ERAs square off Tuesday when the Seattle
Mariners visit the Texas Rangers in the opener of a three-game
set.

Joel Pineiro (1-1, 6.39 ERA) starts for Seattle in search of his
second straight win. Pineiro, who went 6-11 last year after
going 30-18 in his previous two seasons, yielded four runs in
seven innings in a 7-6 win Wednesday. In his season debut, he
surrendered five runs in 5 2/3 innings in a 6-4 loss to the
Chicago White Sox.

Ryan Drese (2-1, 6.39) gets the nod for Texas, who took two of
three games from the New York Yankees over the weekend. Drese,
who won his last start against Tampa Bay despite allowing seven
runs in 5 1/3 innings, seeks his third straight win.

Seattle snapped a three-game losing streak Sunday with a 9-1
triumph against Cleveland. Jamie Moyer allowed one run in eight
innings and Ichiro Suzuki and Miguel Olivo had two hits apiece.

The Rangers took two of three meetings in Seattle in the
season's opening week.
