Angels' Colon goes for fourth win

LA Angels (11-8) at NY Yankees (8-11), 7:05 pm EDT

BRONX, New York -- Bartolo Colon tries to move into a
tie for the most wins in the American League when the Los Angeles
Angels of Anaheim visit the New York Yankees on Tuesday.

Colon (3-1, 2.60 ERA) would join Jon Garland of the Chicago
White Sox and Seattle's Jamie Moyer with his fourth win of the
season. He has allowed one run and seven hits in 15 innings in
his last two outings.

Anaheim, which leads the AL West Division by 1 1/2 games, won
five of seven on its homestand, including Sunday's 1-0 victory
over Oakland.

Kelvim Escobar pitched six scoreless innings in his season debut
after opening the season on the injured list with a strained
right elbow and Steve Finley homered in the seventh.

After the Yankees dropped two straight to the Texas Rangers,
captain Derek Jeter called a players-only meeting before
Sunday's game. He then collected three hits, including a homer,
as New York avoided a sweep with an 11-1 victory.

Randy Johnson retired 17 of the first 18 batters he faced to
notch his 248th career victory and first since Opening Day.

Carl Pavano (1-2, 2.86) goes for his second straight win for the
Yankees. He turned in a solid performance against Toronto on
Wednesday, allowing two runs and seven hits in eight innings.

Since 1998, Anaheim has a 32-31 regular-season record against
New York and bounced the Yankees from the 2002 postseason.
