Packers take WR Murphy with 58th pick

NEW YORK - The Green Bay Packers appear to be
alternating picks on offense and defense.

With the 58th overall pick, the Packers drafted Texas AM
receiver Terrence Murphy.

In the first round, the Packers selected quarterback Aaron
Rodgers of California - Brett Favre's eventual replacement -
with the 24th pick, but Green Pay picked cornerback-safety Nick
Collins of Bethune-Cookman 51st overall in the second round.

The 6-1, 202-pound Murphy earned first-team All-Big 12 honors
last season, catching 51 passes for 682 yards and three
touchdowns. He also led the Big 12 with a 27.2 yard average on
kick returns as a junior, but has had problems with drops and
fumbles.
