Soccer-Bundesliga match reports

FRANKFURT, April 23 - Reports of matches played in
the Bundesliga on Saturday:

ARMINIA BIELEFELD 3 FREIBURG 1

Freiburg were relegated by a hat-trick from Massimiliano
Porcello.

Petr Gabriel nodded down a free kick to tee up Porcello for
the first in the fifth minute before Ellery Cairo took advantage
of a mistake in the Bielefeld defence to equalise 10 minutes
later.

Porcello converted a Klodian Duro cross to restore
Bielefeld's lead 10 minutes after the break and the Italian
tucked in his third from the edge of the area in the 69th.

BAYERN MUNICH 3 VfL BOCHUM 1

Bayern took a big step towards the title with a victory that
took them nine points clear with four games left.

Felix Magath's side went ahead in the ninth minute when
Claudio Pizarro chested down a Willy Sagnol pass before beating
the keeper. Bayern's task was made easier when Bochum goalkeeper
Rein van Duijnhoven was sent off for handling outside the area.

Michael Ballack swept in the second goal on 26 minutes and
Roy Makaay made certain of victory in the 63rd after Filip
Tapalovic's header had reduced the arrears.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND 4 KAISERSLAUTERN 2

Two trademark headers from Jan Koller earned Dortmund
victory in a thriller.

Kaiserslautern took an early lead when Ciriaco Sforza's pass
set up Halil Altintop but the home side equalised through
Ewerthon in the 12th minute.

Sebastian Kehl's powerful header from a Tomas Rosicky corner
put Dortmund ahead before the half-hour mark. Kaiserslautern,
though, levelled again thanks to a low shot from the edge of the
box from Ioannis Amanatidis on 42 minutes.

Koller took over in the second half, towering above the
defence to score after 61 and 74 minutes.

MAINZ 2 HANOVER 96 0

Mainz moved five points clear of the relegation places with
a deserved win.

HAMBURG SV 3 HANSA ROSTOCK 0
Hamburg maintained their faint hopes of a Champions League
berth as they piled on Rostock's relegation troubles.

Emile Mpenza put Hamburg ahead four minutes after the break
with a header from Mehdi Mahdavikia's cross. Colin Benjamin
notched the second at the far post before Naohiro Takahara made
it 3-0 on 64 minutes.

HERTHA BERLIN 4 SCHALKE 04 1

Schalke can look forward to a fight to hold on to a
Champions League qualifying place rather than a battle with
Bayern for the title after suffering a third successive league
defeat.

The visitors fell behind in the fifth minute after a strong
run and finish from Yildiray Bastuerk but hit back when Ebbe
Sand turned in the area to beat the keeper.

Schalke's Danish defender Christian Poulsen received a
second yellow card for tangling with Nico Kovac in the 23rd
minute and Hertha took advantage with two goals from Marcelinho
and one from Nando Rafael.

VfB STUTTGART 0 VfL WOLFSBURG 0
With leading forward Kevin Kuranyi missing, Stuttgart wasted
the chance to leapfrog Schalke into second place.

Brazilian striker Cacau missed the best chance, skidding a
shot wide from the left of the area.
