Boston looks to bounce back against Tampa Bay

Boston (10-7) at Tampa Bay (7-10), 6:15 pm EDT

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- Curt Schilling continues
his comeback from offseason ankle surgery when the Boston Red
Sox face the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on Saturday.

Schilling (1-1, 6.75 ERA), who started the season on the
disabled list, won his last start on Monday against the Toronto
Blue Jays despite giving up five runs and 10 hits in five
innings. He was 4-1 against the Devil Rays last year.

Doug Waechter (0-0, 0.00) makes his first start of the season in
place of Rob Bell, who has been struggling lately. Waechter
has worked 3 1/3 innings in a pair of relief outings, including
a one-hit performance over three innings against Boston on
Sunday.

Eduardo Perez came off the bench to hit a ninth-inning,
game-winning home run against reliever Alan Embree and give
Tampa Bay its third victory in four outings with a 5-4 triumph
on Friday.

Julio Lugo went 3-for-4 and had three RBIs for the Devil Rays,
who beat Boston for the first time since they were outscored
19-3 by the Red Sox in a three-game sweep last weekend.
