Soccer-Motta back in Barca squad seven months after knee injury

MADRID, April 16 - Brazilian midfielder Thiago
Motta was named in Barcelona's squad for Sunday's Primera Liga
match at home to Getafe seven months after suffering a serious
knee ligament injury.

The 22-year-old had surgery on his left knee after tearing
his anterior cruciate and lateral ligament during a league match
against Sevilla last September.

Defenders Gabri and Edmilson and Sweden striker Henrik
Larsson suffered similar injuries early in the season but none
of them have yet been given the all-clear to resume playing.

Club medical staff said the club's leading scorer Samuel
Eto'o cannot play against Getafe because he requires more time
to recover from an inflamed knee cartilage.

Brazilian defender Silvinho and Italian midfielder Demetrio
Albertini will also miss out because of muscle injuries.

Barcelona's lead at the top was cut to six points after last
week's 4-2 loss to title rivals Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
