Lidle opposes Willis in Phillies-Marlins rubber game

Philadelphia (4-4) at Florida (4-4), 1:05 pm EDT

MIAMI -- A pair of pitchers look to build on impressive
season debuts when the Philadelphia Phillies face the Florida
Marlins on Wednesday afternoon at Dolphins Stadium in the rubber
game of a three-game set.

Dontrelle Willis (1-0, 0.00 ERA) starts for Florida after tossing
a five-hit shutout in a 9-0 rout of the Washington Nationals last
Friday. He walked just one and struck out three.

Cory Lidle (0-0, 1.69) gets the nod for Philadelphia. The
righthander allowed two runs - one earned - in 5 1/3 innings in
his first start last Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Lidle left with a 5-2 cushion, but the Phillies bullpen
squandered the lead.

Philadelphia won the series opener, 4-1, on Monday as Brett
Myers tossed 5 1/3 innings, allowing only an unearned run and
three hits. Florida responded with an 8-2 win on Tuesday as
A.J. Burnett pitched a complete game, allowing eight hits
without a walk. Mike Lowell, Paul Lo Duca and Miguel Cabrera
each homered for the Marlins.

Florida won the 2004 season series, 12-7.
