HARTFORD, Conn. -- Greg Cuyler, once the eighth-ranked
amateur flyweight in the country, was shot to death early Sunday.
Cuyler, 23, of Hartford, was shot in the chest and leg at The
Main Tower lounge in the city's North End at about 1 a.m., police
said. He was the city's fifth homicide victim of the year.
Police would not say whether Cuyler was the intended target.
Authorities were searching for suspects.
Cuyler was ranked eighth by USA Boxing in 2002. Cuyler's father
visited the scene of the shooting Sunday. He declined comment.
