Cycling-Hammond fit and confident ahead of Paris-Roubaix

COMPIEGNE, France, April 9 - Briton Roger Hammond,
injured in a crash in the Ghent-Wevelgem ProTour classic on
Wednesday, is recovering quickly and has confirmed he will take
part in the Paris-Roubaix on Sunday.

"My legs are no longer a problem and my only worry is the
thumb," said the Discovery Channel rider, third in the Queen of
classics last year.

Hammond broke his thumb in the crash and was very doubtful
for Sunday's race on the cobbles of Northern France.

"I feel better and better and I'm confident I can have a
good ride tomorrow," said Hammond, who will support team leader
George Hincapie.
