Soccer-Shevchenko scores second as AC Milan beat Inter 2-0

MILAN, April 6 - Andriy Shevchenko marked his
return from injury by scoring AC Milan's second goal in a 2-0
victory over Inter Milan in the first leg of their Champions
League quarter-final on Wednesday.

The European Footballer of the Year, who last played on
February 19, headed Andrea Pirlo's free kick from deep on the
right inside the far post 16 minutes from time.

It was almost a carbon copy of Jaap Stam's opener in first
half injury time, the Dutch defender also glancing a Pirlo free
kick from the right inside the far post.

Inter substitute Giorgos Karagounis hit the post from a
tight angle on the right in the dying minutes.

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso was booked in the first
half and will be suspended for the second leg on Tuesday.
