Sprained ankle sidelines Mihm

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- The slumping Los Angeles Lakers placed center Chris Mihm on the injured list Tuesday because of a sprained right ankle, and activated center Vlade Divac.

Mihm sprained his ankle late in the second quarter of Saturday
night's 95-94 loss at San Antonio. He will miss at least five games
starting Tuesday night at Phoenix.

Mihm is averaging 9.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.49 blocked
shots in 24.9 minutes per game. All are career highs.

The Lakers signed the 37-year-old Divac last summer, but he has
played in only eight games because of back problems, averaging 0.8
points and 1.1 rebounds.

Divac had been on the injured list since Dec. 22, and underwent
microsurgery Jan. 6 to repair a herniated disk in his back. He was
first injured during an offseason workout.

The Lakers had lost 11 of 12 and brought a 33-40 record into
Tuesday night's game.
