Villanova in Sweet 16 for first time in 17 years

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Lee Humphrey and Taurean Green each
scored 14 points and Florida coasted to an 84-41 exhibition victory
over West Florida on Friday night.

The Gators took a 29-5 lead, went ahead 58-22 at halftime and
never were challenged by the Division II Argonauts. West Florida
did not have a starter taller than 6-foot-7, but Florida's guards
did most of the damage in the first half.

Humphrey, a junior 3-point specialist who shot 40 percent from
the field last season, hit four consecutive 3s and added a driving
layup in the opening nine minutes before missing his first shot. He
gave the Gators the lead for good at 3-2 with his first 3, and his
final basket made it 29-5.

Green, Florida's starting point guard, hit three of his four
3-point attempts. Five Gators scored in double figures as Chris
Richard had 13 points, Joakim Noah 12 and Al Horford 10.

West Florida guard Maurice Thomas led all scorers with 16
points. The Argonauts' 41 points were an all-time low for a Florida
exhibition opponent, breaking the record of 48 set by Embry-Riddle
on Tuesday.
