TORRICELLA SICURA, Italy, March 11 - Spain's Oscar
Freire extended his overall lead in the Tirreno-Adriatico
ProTour race with victory on the third stage between Tivoli and
Torricella Sicura on Friday.
Freire accelerated hard in the final metres of the uphill
finish, beating Laurent Brochard of France and Germany's Danilo
Hondo for his second successive victory in the week-long race.
It was Freire's fourth win of the 2005 season.
