Phoenix signs Snell, member of Australian Olympic team

PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Mercury on Thursday signed
guard-forward Belinda Snell, a member of Australia's 2004 Olympic
team and a player in the Australian women's pro league.

Snell led Australia's WNBL in scoring (20.3 points per game)
during the recently completed 2004-05 season and was third in
assists (4.0 per game). She shot 40 percent from 3-point range.

"I think Belinda is one of the top three-point shooters in the
world," said Mercury head coach Carrie Graf, who has coached
against Snell in the WNBL. "But her game isn't limited to outside
shooting. She can rebound and pass the ball as well."
