CHARLOTTE, North Carolina - The Charlotte Bobcats on
Wednesday placed veteran guard Steve Smith on the injured list
with right knee tendinitis.
Smith, 35, has played in 37 games this season, averaging 7.9
points in just under 18 minutes per contest. He ranks 11th in
the NBA in 3-point shooting at 42 percent.
To take Smith's roster spot, the Bobcats signed guard Matt
Carroll, who was leading the National Basketball Development
League (NBDL) in scoring at 20.1 points per game.
Carroll played a combined 16 games with San Antonio and Portland
last season, averaging 1.2 points.
