Soccer-Suwon held by Pohang in East Asian Champions Cup

SOGWIPO, South Korea, Feb 16 - A stoppage-time
goal helped Pohang Steelers to come back from a two-goal deficit
and claim a 2-2 draw against Suwon Bluewings in the East Asian
Champions Cup on Wednesday.

The K-League champions looked to be in control after two
goals from Brazilian striker Nadson before the break at Cheju
World Cup Stadium.

But Moon Min-kwi pulled one back in the 82nd minute before
Baek Young-chul's powerful header salvaged a point for Pohang in
a repeat of last year's K-League championship final.

The result left Suwon on top of the standings ahead of
Japanese champions Yokohama F-Marinos on goal difference after
two matches in the four-team tournament.

Injury-hit Yokohama also have four points from two games
after beating China's Shenzhen Jianlibao 2-0.

Yokohama are missing 17 of their 34-man squad through injury
or sickness with several players coming down with flu during the
competition.

Despite the absence of players such as South Korea striker
Ahn Jung-hwan and Japan's Tatsuhiko Kubo, Yokohama were
comfortable winners against Chinese champions Shenzhen.

Midfielder Yoshiharu Ueno put Yokohama in front two minutes
into the second half and substitute Shingo Kumabayashi made the
points safe in the 64th minute.

Suwon take on Yokohama and Pohang face Shenzhen in
Saturday's final round of matches.

South Korea's Seongnam Ilhwa won last year's East Asian
Champions Cup in Shanghai, while Japan's Kashima Antlers won the
inuagural competition in Tokyo two years ago.
