SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Seattle SuperSonics seek to continue
their recent success when they host the Dallas Mavericks on
Sunday. Winners of their last six games, the SuperSonics own the largest
lead of any division leader at 11 1/2 games in the Northwest
Division. During the streak, Seattle has beaten Sacramento twice and
posted a 113-105 victory at Phoenix on Friday. Seven players
scored in double figures in the latest win. All-Stars Rashard Lewis and Ray Allen led the way with 23 and 21
points, respectively. Antonio Daniels came off the bench to
score 20 as the SuperSonics' reserves outscored the Suns' bench,
35-7. The Mavericks are coming off a 115-113 victory at Sacramento on
Friday that could determine home-court advantage in the
playoffs. Dirk Nowitzki, who will be teaming up with Lewis and Allen in
the All-Star Game, collected 27 points, seven rebounds and seven
assists. Michael Finley added 19 and Erick Dampier collected
16 and eight rebounds for the Mavericks. Seattle won the first meeting at Dallas, 107-102, on December 9.
Lewis and Allen scored 25 and 22, respectively, while Nowitzki
scored 27 in the loss.
